STEAM @ Central Singapore 2019
An Artificial Intelligence Hackathon where students were introduced to STEAM skills. In the last week of the June school holidays, Roboto facilitated the event and saw about 300 students through the day camps held at Pathlight School.
The Competition
Students warmed up with a morning crash course on Halocode and mBlock coding platforms. Each team was equipped with two kits and a pair of laptops. Sponsored by Central Singapore CDC and co-organised by Roboto, the programme was created for lower secondary students from 16 participating schools.
Innovative Student Projects
Teams created Artificial Intelligence-powered features applicable to homes, inspired by Singapore's Smart Nation movement. The theme was “Artificial Intelligence for Better Living.”
Ms Denise Phua, Mayor of Central Singapore District, graced the event with words of encouragement: “The biggest victor is the one who puts in his best.”
